Beginning and End of the therapy

Therapy starts at the initiative of the client with the initial appointment. This is an opportunity for you to tell me more about your situation and difficulties and to receive more information about my work methods. We then decide together what approach would help you best. 

The therapy ends with the decision of the client or by mutual agreement. Whatever the modalities, it is preferable to end the psychotherapy with a final consultation. The length of the therapy depends on many factors and can vary from 5-30 sessions.

 

Confidentiality

As a psychologist I am bound to a strict code of deontology, which includes maintaining the confidentiality of client data. Confidentiality is an integral part of psychotherapy and is seen as essential to building the therapeutic relationship and ensuring the client’s sense of safety. My clients’ trust in my professional secrecy is of the highest value. All information will remain confidential unless we mutually agree to discuss something with a third party. 

 

Payment

Payment is normally made at the end of each session. I can provide you with a receipt. If needed, I will confirm receipt of payment for insurance purposes.

 

Cancellation and missed session policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. The required notice for cancellation is 48 hours prior to the appointment time. When the notice is sent less than 48 hours prior to the appointment time, or if you fail to attend your appointment, the full fee will be charged. I hope you understand that it is rarely possible to fill appointments at such short notice, which is why I’m obliged to charge for the session. In case of sickness it will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
